MODEL MAKING

FLOWER SHOP MODEL: This was made for Father Brown Series 10 and is a model of a florists shop which was used in an exhibition about the life of a florist. The model was designed by me from scratch, I produced technical drawings of the shop and then used those to create the model to scale. I also added small details such as dolls house lighting inside and individually placed roof tiles and bricks.

FEATURE FILM PROJECT: Based on 'Lord Loss', a novel by Darren Shan. I designed four different sets, including a study, bell tower, wine cellar and hell like set, these four sets connected to each other. You can see below some of the technical drawings I produced for this project.

NATIONAL TELEVISON AWARDS PROJECT: The brief was to design a set for the NTA's as well as a Greenroom Area which was to match with the theme. I took inspiration from the NTA's Logo which includes a star and decided to make a set that was based on space as a theme including stars that people enter the stage through and large screens at the back surrounded by planet like spheres. The Greenroom area was based on a spaceship that looked like it crash landed in the set.

MORTAL ENGINES: The brief was to design a set based on the Mortal Engines novel by Philip Reeve and I chose to design the St Pauls Cathedral Model, this included designing a central console area and various steam punk inspired mechanisms and well as complex stairways and all within a space which was based on the existing St Pauls Cathedral which I visited specifically as part of my research process.

CANTERVILLE GHOST: The brief was to design a set based on the Canterville Ghost and it involved finding an existing building which could be used as an exterior and surveying it. I chose Norton Conyers near Ripon North Yorkshire as it met all of the briefs within the script. I chose to design the Grand Hall, Secret staircase and loft spaces which all had to be believable that they would fit within the Norton Conyers building. I also designed a stained glass window specifically as well as many intricate details such as wainscotting and ornate  ceilings.

VARIOUS PROJECTS: Below you can see various smaller projects that include examples of my model making, such as a plane that I was commissioned to make for Not Going out to show to a director how the space would work. As well as the models I made for the An Audience with project, which was based on the work of Eve Stewart and an adventure gameshow project which was based around being set in Ancient Greece.
